Bill Kinman (ret.) was the Acting Chief Deputy of the Los Angeles County Library when he was hired as the Library Director for the City of Alhambra. He was then promoted to Leisure Services Director with responsility for Human Services (Recreation and Parks) and the Library Departments. He's a past president of: Alhambra Rotary Club, City of Alhambra HUD
Commission, City of Alhambra Recreation and Parks Commission, and the
Alhambra Historical Society. ![]() Great grandmother lived in Alhambra. Sadly, we lost her on April 2001. We love you, Mom!
The Kinmans' hobby is to travel, and wherever they go, they visit the local Soroptimist Clubs. "We have friends all over the world now." She's also brought back banners from Prague, Czech Republic, and Cork, Ireland. They highly recommend Elderhostel and they are now up to thirty trips In addition to traveling, the Kinmans love to entertain international visitors and have hosted Rotary Group Study Exchange professionals from Japan, Hong Kong, Australia, Denmark, Germany and Brazil, as well as Soroptimist Friendship Grant winners from France, Belgium, Malaysia, Africa and Bulgaria, and Friendship Link members from England. ![]() The Lunch Group Long-time Los Angeles County Library co-workers meet every few months
for lunch or at some interesting events such as a trip to see the butterflies
